Don’t toss your battery, solar or electric radio just yet…in fact, now
may be the time to dig it out, for the following reasons:
Due to contractual difficulty surrounding web streaming compliance
with federal DMCA requirements, KSVR has temporarily turned off its
radio broadcast stream. The station is working with Corporation for
Public Broadcasting and SoundExchange to find a resolution to our
situation. Listeners can visit www.soundexchange.com to find out more
about streaming requirements.
Meanwhile, are there locally produced programs on KSVR that you'd like to hear again, or that you just missed? Archived editions of Speak Up! Speak Out! are always available at their website speakupspeakoutradio.org. Streaming: An effort to revive the webstream!
ReplyDeleteAt the station meeting tonight, DJ Defkawn offered to take the lead on getting the station music play report compiled each calendar year quarter. KSVR is registered with the federal clearinghouse for webstream music royalty payments: SoundExchange. We have installed equipment to switch on the stream for programmers who can create and file the required playlist. DJ Defkawn will lead a collective of music programmers in training to file the first report. Jax, Ben, Martin, Rip, Stuarto all agreed to compile playlist reports for their shows, and many others are expected to agree with the new requirement, in order to have their shows streamed.
