On Wednesday, November 18 at 7PM KSVR will present two shows from the
Modern Library Association. These programs are an examination of
traditions, stories and histories of the indigenous peoples of North
America. The indigenous nations noted this week are the Ojibwe,
originally populating what is now Wisconsin; the Haida, from what we
call Vancouver Island; the Osage from central North America; and
O’odham, who live in what we know as the states of Arizona and
Sonora.

On Thursday, November 19th at 4PM KSVR presents Alternative Radio, an
antidote to the corporate media message.
Operation Enduring Freedom, the name of the U.S. invasion of
Afghanistan is looking more like Operation Enduring Disaster, a
disaster that will cost hundreds of billions of dollars – and the
deaths of thousands. On Thursday, November 19, Norman Solomon,
director of the Institute for Public Accuracy speaks of the expensive
American commitment to build a modern state in Afghanistan, where one
has never existed; to bring order to a place famous for the empires it
has exhausted.

(aired on KSVR every weekday at 6PM), is on a national speaking tour
to mark Democracy Now!'s 13th anniversary and the launch her new book,
Breaking the Sound Barrier.

All proceeds from the event benefit community radio stations KSER in
Everett, and KSVR in Mt. Vernon. Tickets are $40 per person, and Amy
